Fairlie, Chicago hosted Green Wedding Alliance Show!
Wondering how the Green Wedding Alliance Show went, here is our overview!
Committed is a one-of-a-kind wedding event in Chicago, showcasing the city's leading eco-friendly wedding vendors, from planners to florists to caterers, all members of the Green Wedding Alliance. In short, this means that every vendor you meet is equally passionate about sustainability, making it easy to find the right vendors for an eco-conscious celebration.
In a more personal and relaxed setting, you'll have the chance to chat with friendly, down-to-earth vendors who are excited to help bring your dream wedding to life while keeping sustainability at the forefront. Choosing eco-conscious vendors doesn’t mean compromising on quality. Each vendor is an experienced professional who knows how to create a luxurious experience while being mindful of the environment and reducing waste.
Next, there were around 20 vendors to showcase their business ranging from catering to planners, photographers, drawing artis, and venues. What we liked the most about the event was that it was pretty intimate and there was plenty of time to get to know each vendor. There was no rush to get through the whole list of people and no one was jumping at you trying to sell you their service. We were surprised to see that not that many couples attend the show this time, however, we anticipate more and more couples taking advantage of shows like these. (Maybe it was just the weather that day so people didn’t feel like going anywhere)
Anyways, in case you didn’t go, here are some of the vendors we’ve met and had an amazing time getting to know!
Kate Scott Photography
A Chicago native, Katie has been photographing weddings for nearly a decade now. She is passionate about capturing unscripted moments and couples being comfortable in front of the camera. There is no music festival that she hasn’t photographed!!

Am, simply delicious. Stan and I had a chance to try their Asian Bar appetizers version and it was absolutely yummy! We couldn’t stop eating ngl ahah. What impressed me was that even at the show they use wooden utensils and leaf plates - so thoughtful!
Paramount events
Okay, we were hesitant at first but then we actually gave them a try and it wasn’t bad at all. Quite opposite! If you are a foodie like us, definitely give them a consideration and expand your vegan options on your wedding day!
Colvin House
An intimate and at the same time historic venue located right by the lake in Edgewater Glen. This amazing 6,000sf space was designated as a Chicago Landmark in 1994. With years and changing owners, it went through some damage however with love and dedication it is open to hosting love stories! Maximum seated guest capacity is 100 ppl. P.s. they have regular shows happening for you to tour the place and get a feel for it!
Concluding words:

If not, be on the lookout for other events or consider checking out the Green Wedding Alliance blog for tips and tricks on making your wedding more sustainable. As for us, to keep things sustainable, we deliver videos digitally to avoid waste, use eco-friendly equipment, opt for paperless contracts and communications, offset our carbon footprint by minimizing travel, and incorporate small actions in our personal lives, like recycling and composting, to further contribute to sustainability.
